Launch of a micro-site for the next generation in construction

The Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) is proud to announce that its brand-new micro-site devoted to the next generation in the construction industry, carriereenconstruction.com, is now online.

Now, young people have an attractive reference site that gives access to:

  • The new series Nés pour bâtir (Born to Build), composed of four inspiring videos about real workers with different careers
  • A light-hearted quiz that leads to profiles: creative, analytic, psychomotor, and mechanical
  • An information sheet for each of the 25 trades and 6 specialized occupations

The micro-site grid and capsules are set in front of a catchy slogan: T’es fait pour ça (You’re made for this).

In winter 2021, a comparative table that will let visitors find, at a glance, job prospects for coming years, wage rates, and duration of training for each trade and specialized occupation will be added to the content. The English-language version of the micro-site is also in development.

Transition to the digital Careers in Construction

At the same time, the popular annual publication Careers in Construction will go digital. The information sheets by trade or specialized occupation found in the publication will now be offered on the micro-site, in a printable format and adapted to different technological platforms. Their content has been simplified to present the most relevant information for young people, who are mainly at the stage of choosing a career.

A more complete version of the information sheets, intended for professionals and guidance counsellors, will become available during the winter at ccq.org. Each file will contain all the information that was traditionally published, including wage rates by apprenticeship level and sector, average annual salaries, and other data.

For the moment, Careers in Construction 2019-2020, published in PDF format, will still be available for a few months.
